-Reflection
Before I met "Tuesday with Morrie", Tuesday doesn't mean a lot to me and it is a just normal day of my life. I don't know about the tremendous value of Tuesday. I live a routine life as a high school student, and always have not only thinkings but also agonies. Tuesday was nothing but a school day to me so, I want to make my life more animate and special through this Tuesday.
Maybe I guess, after I met the professor Morrie, my life changed more important. When I was reading the book, Morrie always teach me many lessons of life and I was also a ardent student of him. Each of his words impressed my hearts vividly so I felt Morrie was near around me. He and I was the one - coach and player, like as the relationship of Morrie and Mitch.
To Morrie and Mitch, Tuesday was a precious day in their life. The second title - an old man, a young man, and life's greatest lesson was same as the contents of book and I fell into a book deeply.
Morrie was a professor in the university and Mitch was his student at one times. They were very close so their names thah each calls the other was a cotch and player. Morrie thought Mitch as like a son of himself and treated him very well but, after Mitch graduated the school, their relationship couldn't last for a long time. Mitch left him and didn't get in touch with him. Mitch lived very busy as a sports commenter, always wrote a lots of intriguing articles, always told a words of sports, always thought ways to became the rich. In the middle of his life, suddenly his uncle died with disease of cancer, and he was very shocked because of that accident. As he, the meaning of death, what it was? The person who did lots of good deeds to him and always nice and cool to other person, died in a moment. He was very tortured and always hoped to die constantly, with no pain. Through his depth, Mitch realized the value of life and witnessed a limited life.
After experienced the existence of death, he was getting weaker I guess, at that time, he remet his old professor, Morrie. Morrie was fighting with disease, ALS. The terminal disease, ALS tortured Morrie. His legs, thighs, hips were getting stiff and at last, he would die with kinds of heart attack. However, Morrie was very dauntless, brave and positive in front of death. In front of death, can we have a kind of mind like Morrie?
Mitch and Morrie, after their remet, they made their own last lecture, on Tuesdays. The lecture's subjects were Death, Fear, Aging, Greed, Marriage, Family, Society, Forgiveness, A meaningful life. Their meetings were not awkward, it was so friendly and warm. I thought they met their own partners, old friends finally. They became the real Tuesday people.
Morrie always said, "The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in.", "Love is the only rational act.", "Talking, laughing, and sharing minds with other person is the most happiest work in our life." He emphasized relationships with other persons, didn't complain his unlucky disease, coming death. He also mourned, teared, depressed, anxious about his pain and unfortune. However he substituted positive minds for his complicated emotions.
To me, the lecture of forgiveness, feeling sorry for ourselves were most touching and impressed. Forgiveness is so difficult as much as its importance. I also had difficulty with forgiveness to myself as well as to others. Morrie said to me, "Not everyone is so lucky", "Tears are okay", "It's not just other people we need to forgive, We also need to forgive ourselves. Forgive yourself. Forgive others."
Not only forgiveness, other lectures are all impressed and important. Especially about emotions, making the perfect day are so touching. Morrie was deat at last, but his lessons will continue forever, and I also thanked to Morrie about his touching and great aphorisms in his lecture.
